Ultrasound examination

The ultrasound examination is performed in our practice by a qualified and experienced ultrasoundist (Advanced practitioner MSU foot and ankle). Ultrasound is a low-threshold and painless examination. The advantage is that any injury can be looked at immediately. So you quickly know if something is wrong.

You can make an appointment for an echo directly, you do not need a referral for this.

Of course, if desired, we can provide an adequate report to your GP, physiotherapist or podiatrist.

Ultrasound is used to obtain additional imaging information about various structures in the foot and ankle. It can be used to visualize, among other things, the following structures:

  1. Muscle tissue
  2. Tendon tissue
  3. Joints
  4. Nerves

We see many patients with heel pain, with complaints under the forefoot and with complaints in the foot root. With a correct diagnosis, more targeted therapy can be used. We work intensively with physiotherapists, orthopedic shoemakers and orthopedic specialists in follow-up trajectories. Our ultrasoundist is part of the team of the Heel Pain Center.

The costs for an ultrasound examination are 70 euros and are often reimbursed from your supplementary insurance.
